Dugan and Reger mentions about the ability to pursue commitment in social movements.
“Focusing on the interactional dynamics of movements, we find that two constructs, voice and agency are critical to the development of a sense of “groupness” and can aid social movement actors in accomplishing desired goals” (Duagn and Reger 45).
They explain that a sense of unity in the cause allows for a greater opportunity for the individual to connect with the issue and become more passionate about it.
